Present identity with a quote

When you submit a price quote, Atum already knows which key signed it. Atum ID adds a second question: is that key one Atum recognizes as a settlement provider? You answer that by attaching a presentation to the quote. The presentation carries your Known to Atum credential and is signed with the same account that signed the quote.

What you present

You receive the Known to Atum credential during onboarding. You do not mint it. Don’t copy a credential or presentation from another environment — a presentation is bound to the environment it was minted for and will not verify elsewhere. This path is only about your identity as a settlement provider. It does not attest to the originator or the source-account holder of the payment you are quoting.

What Atum checks

When identity checks are on for quotes, Atum verifies that:

• The presentation and the quote are signed by the same account
• The presentation is for this payment and this environment
• The attached credential is Known to Atum about that account as a settlement provider
• The credential’s signature is valid and unexpired

Relation to running an agent

Identity presentation is one more object on the quote path. It does not change how you deploy the agent, fund wallets, or set pricing. Keys, vaults, and liquidity stay yours; Atum still does not operate the agent or hold your funds. If you are moving to an environment where quote identity is required, Atum will issue the credential for the account your agent signs with and confirm the agent is presenting it.
