Veri-Fill is the service that guards funds in the settlement vault. It reads the chains itself and signs one of two things:
  • Release. After a settlement operator pays the recipient and the payout is final on the destination chain, Veri-Fill checks the payout against the selected quote and signs a release. The operator uses it to take the payer’s funds from the vault.
  • Refund. If a payment is not delivered, Veri-Fill checks that nothing was delivered and signs a refund. The funds go back to the payer.
Anyone can call Veri-Fill:
  • Settlement operators request releases and refunds, and read the finality rule each chain uses.
  • Payers can check finality per chain and list the vault contracts. A payer does not request refunds here: when a refund is ready, the payment’s status is refund_available and carries refund_signature. See Refunds.
